We’re now offering private yoga classes at our Backs on Burnside location. Private yoga can enhance chiropractic treatment by promoting flexibility, strengthening supporting muscles, reducing stress, and providing a personalized approach to improving spinal health and overall well-being.

We are approaching it as an addition to your existing treatment plan, especially if you are utilizing insurance. (We bill it under the same codes as physical rehab to insurance companies.)

If not utilizing insurance, that is okay too! We are charging the same flat rate for yoga classes as we do massage, $115 per treatment/class.

Private yoga can be a beneficial complement to chiropractic and massage treatment in several ways:

  1. Personalized approach: Our private yoga sessions can be tailored to the specific needs and condition of the individual undergoing chiropractic care. This customization ensures that the yoga practice focuses on areas that need improvement or are affected by musculoskeletal issues.
  2. Improved flexibility and mobility: Yoga promotes flexibility and mobility, which are crucial for overall spinal health and alignment. Through gentle stretches and poses, yoga can help loosen tight muscles and improve joint range of motion, which can support the adjustments made by chiropractic treatments.
  3. Strengthening support muscles: Yoga postures not only stretch but also strengthen muscles, including those that support the spine. Strengthening these muscles can provide better support to the spine and reduce the likelihood of misalignments recurring after chiropractic adjustments.
  4. Stress reduction: Yoga incorporates breathing exercises and meditation techniques that help reduce stress and promote relaxation. Stress can contribute to muscle tension and exacerbate spinal issues, so reducing stress levels can complement chiropractic care by creating a more conducive environment for healing.
  5. Educational component: Private yoga sessions often include education on posture, body mechanics, and mindfulness. This knowledge can empower individuals to make lifestyle changes that support their spinal health, such as maintaining proper posture and incorporating movement into daily routines.
  6. Holistic approach: Chiropractic care and yoga both emphasize holistic approaches to health and wellness. By integrating these practices, individuals can experience comprehensive benefits that address both physical and mental aspects of well-being.
